Each year, tens of thousands of young adults leave the U.S. foster care system without the support or resources to transition into independent life. A nonprofit organization is working to bridge that gap by helping former foster youth secure stable career pathways. The initiative focuses on providing mentorship, job training, and direct connections to employers for those who age out of the system. With limited safety nets, these young adults face heightened risks of unemployment and instability, making such programs critical.

About 23,000 young people age out of the U.S. foster care system each year. Petra Cares aims to connect those young adults with career opportunities.
