Each year, tens of thousands of young people leave the U.S. foster care system without the support or resources to transition into independent adulthood. A new initiative called Petra Cares is working to bridge that gap by helping former foster youth secure stable career opportunities. The program focuses on providing guidance and connections to employment that many in this vulnerable population often lack. With limited support networks, these young adults face significant challenges in establishing careers, making programs like this a critical resource.
About 23,000 young people age out of the U.S. foster care system each year. Petra Cares aims to connect those young adults with career opportunities.
