South Carolina is poised to become a major player in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector as BMW's highly anticipated battery plant nears completion in the Upstate region. The massive facility, a $1 billion investment, is expected to create hundreds of new jobs and solidify the state's position as a hub for EV production. Located in Woodruff, the plant will produce lithium-ion batteries for BMW's electric vehicles, including the i4 and iX models. As the US continues to transition towards a more sustainable transportation future, this project is a significant step forward, not only for BMW but also for the local economy and the state as a whole.
