California's automotive landscape is shifting towards a more eco-friendly future, with new data revealing a significant increase in the adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles. According to the latest registration numbers, standard hybrids have emerged as the dominant alternative fuel option, accounting for a substantial 22 percent of all vehicles registered in the state during the first half of the year. Meanwhile, electric vehicles (EVs) secured a notable 16 percent market share, with plug-in hybrids trailing behind at 2.3 percent.
