Honda has developed an experimental wireless charging system designed to power electric vehicles while they are in motion on specially equipped roads. The technology uses magnetic fields to transfer energy from underground coils embedded in the road surface to a receiver on the vehicle’s underside. Unlike traditional charging methods, this system aims to eliminate the need for drivers to stop at charging stations, potentially extending driving range continuously. The concept raises questions about infrastructure requirements and efficiency, as it would require significant road modifications and energy input.
