https://www.instagram.com/mouse_motors/p/DXW2HygABJI/ Today, Chicago-based Mouse Motors announced the sale of LM2, and the news has made waves around the car community. This F1 LM has been owned by a Chicago-based options trader and serial McLaren F1 collector since 2013, living alongside two F1 GTRs and McLaren F1 #001. It has been purchased by François Perrodo, a French collector who himself currently has four F1 GTRs and one 'standard' F1 with a high-downforce kit. This F1 LM acquisition becomes his sixth McLaren F1. The McLaren F1 is a legendary car in its own right, the fastest naturally aspirated vehicle ever made. The F1 LM is a whole different level of holy grail. For more than a decade, they have been unobtanium. One is owned by Ralph Lauren, who is unlikely to ever sell it. One belongs to the McLaren factory, also unlikely to be sold. And three of them are in Southeast Asia (two in Brunei, one in Johor, Malaysia), and will never be sold, let alone seen publicly. This sale of LM2 is unexpected and monumental for the market. No sale price has been confirmed, but with off-market transactions for very special examples of 'regular' F1s and F1 GTRs well exceeding $30 million USD, it would be no surprise for this to have been a $45 million+ sale. It is hard to fathom another F1 LM sale for a very long time. submitted by /u/pz760 [link] [comments]
