Plug & Charge, a technology that lets electric vehicles authenticate themselves and start charging without manual steps, is set to expand to alternating‑current (AC) stations. Chargecloud, a German charging‑infrastructure provider, and Hubject, a global network that connects EV drivers with charging networks, have partnered to roll out the feature at AC points across Europe. The collaboration means drivers can simply plug in, and the vehicle’s credentials will be verified automatically, eliminating the need for payment cards or apps. The move is expected to streamline the charging experience and accelerate the adoption of electric mobility.
