The Port of Long Beach is taking a major step towards reducing its carbon footprint with a significant investment in electric vehicle and equipment electrification. In a bid to minimize its environmental impact, the port has allocated $58.2 million to expand its fleet of electric vehicles and equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and other machinery used in its operations. This move is part of the port's efforts to meet its goal of achieving 100% zero-emissions operations by 2030. By transitioning to electric, the port aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, creating a healthier environment for the surrounding community.
