As a severe heatwave gripped the region, the power grid teetered on the brink of collapse, with energy demand soaring to unprecedented levels. However, a surprise hero emerged to help stabilize the grid: electric vehicles (EVs). As the grid struggled to keep up with air conditioning and other cooling needs, EVs played an unexpected role in preventing a full-blown power outage.
