This is 12 seconds faster than the stock Taycan Turbo GT w/ Weissach Pack, and 9 seconds faster than the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra (previous 4 door EV record holder). Pretty impressive they managed to make it so much faster. I'm sure Xiaomi is working on an SU7 Ultra Ultra model with 2500hp that will release next week and beat this, however. "The performance kit offers increased aerodynamic downforce, an even more powerful drivetrain and modified suspension. The driving dynamics systems have been retuned and are designed for the lightweight wheels developed for the Manthey Kit, fitted with special track tyres (Pirelli P ZERO Trofeo RS). The new Manthey Kit was developed in close collaboration between the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and the Manthey engineers in Meuspath ... For the first time, the Manthey Kit also includes adjustments to the powertrain: optimisations to the high-voltage battery, control unit and pulse inverters increase the maximum discharge current while driving from 1,100 to 1,300 amps. This increases the system output by 20 kW to 600 kW, while the maximum torque when using Launch Control rises to 1,270 Nm (plus 30 Nm). If the driver activates Attack Mode, an additional power boost of up to 130 kW is available for a short time. The 10-second output therefore temporarily increases to 730 kW instead of 700 kW. The high-performance package also includes newly developed, optimised 21-inch ‘Manthey’ design forged aluminium wheels. Despite their larger dimensions, they are lighter than the standard wheels. Including the titanium wheel bolts, which further reduce unsprung masses, they weigh a total of more than three kilograms less than the already weight-optimised wheels of the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package. Road-legal track tyres are available as an option, which are four centimetres wider on the front axle and three centimetres wider on the rear compared to the Turbo GT." edit semi-unrelated: Watching the video, it is absurd seeing how much strain track driving puts on the powertrain. I knew it was a lot, but seeing the battery SOC go from 96% to 52%, and the temperature from 10c to 64c in under 7 minutes is pretty crazy. My dad has a base model facelift taycan, so the same battery as this, and even in an hour long highway drive in normal mode (which deprioritises thermals) the battery temperature will only go up around a couple degrees from where it started. submitted by /u/ryzenguy111 [link] [comments]
