A new analysis of real‑world data shows that electric vehicles are holding onto their battery capacity far better than many owners feared. The study, the largest of its kind to date, examined thousands of EVs across multiple brands and model years, tracking how quickly the packs lose charge over time and mileage. Results indicate that most cars retain more than 90 percent of their original capacity after eight years or 100,000 miles, with only a handful of outliers showing significant degradation. The findings could ease consumer anxiety, support higher resale values and reinforce the case for broader EV adoption as the technology proves its durability.
