Volkswagen is facing a major safety recall after discovering a battery fire risk in nearly 44,000 of its vehicles. According to reports, the issue affects certain models of the German automaker's electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, which were manufactured between 2020 and 2022. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a warning, advising some owners to park their vehicles outside immediately and away from buildings, due to the potential for fires to spread quickly. Volkswagen has not yet released a statement on the recall, but owners of affected vehicles are encouraged to check their VIN numbers to see if their vehicle is part of the recall.
