Volvo Trucks has made a significant move in the electric semi-truck market by adding an electric power take-off (ePTO) option to its VNR Electric semi-truck lineup. The ePTO allows drivers to power auxiliary equipment such as pumps, winches, and air compressors directly from the truck's electric motor, eliminating the need for a separate diesel engine or generator. This upgrade is expected to increase the efficiency and reduce the emissions of the VNR Electric, making it an even more attractive option for fleets looking to transition to electric power. The addition of ePTO marks another step towards Volvo's goal of reducing emissions and noise pollution in the transportation sector.
