I'm trying to learn about why different engines sound better or worse. From what I could find online, many people mention firing order. Assuming an engine has an equal firing interval and an equal length exhaust, I don't see how this could have an effect on the sound. Similarly, I don't fully understand why a 72° V10 doesn't just sound like a 20% higher pitch 90° V8. Is it to do with the amount of overlap between exhaust pulses? submitted by /u/BrunoEye [link] [comments]
